Fashion choices will expand for Washington hunters this July with a goal of attracting more women.
The state’s Mule Deer Foundation Chairwoman, Rachel Voss, said she knows plenty of young women excited about a new law to allow hunters to wear fluorescent pink rather than the traditional orange. Gov. Jay Inslee signed Senate Bill 5148 on Monday after it unanimously passed in the Senate and House.
“One of the main pushes with this is to bring young girls into the sport, to introduce new women into the sport,” said Voss, an avid hunter who lives in Naches. “It’ll help promote the three r’s, which are recruitment, retention and reactivation.”
